The importance of scenic improvisation in the expressive development of special education students: an experience

This study, by means of observations of experiences and theatrical presentations, aims to understand the relationship between theater and Special Education, allowing an emotional, cognitive and motor development and the appreciation of handicapped people, as individuals with creative potential. Methodologically, ludic activities, spontaneous theatrical exercises, as well as essays, supervised by the author-teacher, were performed and proposed with 05 students, so that the students could experience, through art, theater, spontaneity and their expression capability in the world. In the context of ludic stimulation, the story of Charles Perrault, Cinderella, was selected for interpretation and improvisation. The choosing of characters, as well as the marking of the scenes was ruled by the freedom and spontaneity of the students, which allowed improvisation to happen during presentations. Presentations were performed at two schools of Primary Education on the Triângulo Mineiro, in a Region Seminar and in a Regional Theatrical Showcase (Mostra de Teatro Regional). Generally speaking, it was possible to notice, through the speeches of the students, that the theatrical presentations provided to the people involved: a) an improvement on self-confidence and autonomy; b) stronger involvement with the theatrical proposal; c) stronger communication capability; d) bigger popularity; e) more easiness in the ways of connecting to other people; e f) the meaning of the disability as a characteristic and not as a condition that defines the person. Therefore, I believe this proposition has transformed the lives of the 05 students whom participated in the project, considering they were seen as useless, and, after the project, they became a reference and inspiration for other students who have some kind of disability.Dissertação (Mestrado)Este estudo busca, por meio de reflexões de experiências e apresentações teatrais, compreender as relações entre teatro e Educação Especial, possibilitando o desenvolvimento afetivo, cognitivo, motor e a valorização de pessoas com deficiência, enquanto sujeitos com potenciais criativos. Metodologicamente, foram realizadas e propostas com 05 alunos, durante situação de aulas, atividades lúdicas, exercícios teatrais espontâneos, bem como ensaios, orientados pelo autor-professor, para que os alunos pudessem vivenciar por meio da Arte, do teatro, a espontaneidade e sua capacidade de expressão no mundo. No contexto de estimulação lúdica, foi selecionada para interpretação e improvisação, a história de Charles Perrault, Cinderela. A escolha das personagens, bem como a marcação das cenas foi pautada pela liberdade e espontaneidade dos alunos, o que permitiu com que nas apresentações ocorresse a improvisação. Foram feitas apresentações em duas escolas de Educação Básica do Triângulo Mineiro, em um Seminário da Região e em uma Mostra de Teatro Regional. De modo geral, foi possível perceber, por meio do discurso dos alunos, que as apresentações teatrais proporcionaram nos envolvidos: a) melhora na autoconfiança e na autonomia; b) maior envolvimento com a proposta teatral; c) maior capacidade de comunicação; d) maior popularidade; e) mais facilidade nas formas de se relacionar com o outro; e f) sentido da deficiência como uma característica e não, como uma condição que definia a identidade da pessoa. Portanto, acredito que esta proposta transformou a vida dos 05 alunos que participaram do trabalho, pois antes eram vistos como inúteis e após o projeto, passaram a ser referência e inspiração para outros alunos que também tinham alguma deficiência
