This book chapter, written in Portuguese, is intended as a brief introduction to the domain of solid ion-conducting polymers. This domain has been the subject of substantial research in the last few decades, driven by the perception that many of the limitations observed in solid state secondary lithium cells may be overcome by substitution of the conventional non-aqueous electrolyte by a flexible polymer film with suitable physical and chemical properties. Since 2004, the year of publication of this book chapter, a huge advance in the field has been registered but the objective of the text continues to be relevant
