Set up of an online rheo-Raman system to measure the cross-linking of polymers

Die Kombination zweier Geräte, eines Raman Mikroskops und eines Platte Platte Rheometers, mithilfe eines selbstkonstruierten Adapters, stellte einen Aspekt dieser Arbeit dar. Nach dem Aufbau und der Inbetriebnahme, konnten thermisch und UV induzierte Polymerisationsreaktionen untersucht werden. Die sich bietenden Möglichkeiten des Aufbaus wurden mit zwei verschiedene Probensysteme, einem Epoxid-Harz auf Bisphenol-A-epichlorhydrin-Basis, BADGE oder DGEBA, sowie einem auf Poly(2 hydroxyethylmethacrylat), pHEMA, basierenden Hydrogel, getestet.In our approach, a rheo-Raman set up was planned to gather chemical and rheological data simultaneously. It consists of a Raman microscope, a rheometer and an adapter to couple these two. After the system had been set up and worked properly, we investigated two different chemical reactions taking place during curing. A polymerization reaction at higher temperatures and an UV-induced radical polymerisation at room temperature.
