Model-based system Reconfiguration

System Management provides capabilities for system configuration and reconfiguration. This isessential for both distributed and not distributed systems even if the principles might be slightlydifferent. In configuration of somewhat closed systems, there is a need to propose a givenconfiguration while integrating new technologies. In distributed systems, the configuration needs toaddress the fact that those systems are often integrated in existing contexts (e.g. platform,equipment and infrastructure).Configuration and reconfiguration are of value for stakeholders (I.e. customers, users, operators,builders, integrators, etc.): reliability, availability, maintainability, testability, safety, reusabilitymodularity and reuse of system entities and technologies that are essential for engineering andoperation, as well as for integration of new technologies.Furthermore, configuration and reconfiguration processes rely on available a priori and a posterioridata, combined to consider different degrees of uncertainty. These processes rely on data providedby concept generation, system architecture and design activities.
