International audienceThe villages where we collected food data are located in the silvopastoral zone of Senegal (Ferlo). This vast territory located in the northern part of the country is characterized by a semi-arid climate. Development and desertification control projects have been implemented there one after the other since the drought of the 1970s and 1980s. The majority of the population is Fulani but cohabitates with Wolofs and Moors, as well as Senegalese government officials and agents of national and international NGOs. This work aims at highlighting the meaning of the cultural dietary restrictions of the fulani people living in the Senegalese Ferlo region.
