Experimental research on effect of unburned pulverized coal on coke gasification performance in blast furnace

Coal is a complex mixture composed of thousands of organic compounds and dozens of inorganic materials. its structure is very complex and belongs to uneven natural mineral resources[1-2]. China is rich in coal and less oil, and is one of the few countries in the world that uses coal as its main energy source[3]. With an average annual output of 3.66 billion tons, China is the world's largest coal producer, accounting for half of the world's total coal production. Although China has steadily carried out adjustment and optimization of its energy structure in recent years and implemented total coal consumption control in key regions, coal still accounts for about 60 percent of China's total primary energy consumption. Most of them are directly used in the combustion of power plant boilers and industrial kilns. In order to reduce the environmental pollution caused by coke production, 100% of modern blast furnaces in China adopt blast furnace pulverized coal injection technology. China produced 770 million tons of pig iron in 2018, accounting for about 60 per cent of global pig iron production. The total coal consumption used in the iron and steel industry is about 600 million tons, accounting for 17 percent of the total coal consumption, of which about 145 million tons of coal is used for blast furnace injection
