This thesis presents ausage-basedcorpus study ofco-occurringpatternsof English color and emotion terms.A setof 11 basic color terms and 135 emotion terms serve as the starting point for the search of a limited set of complementation patternsin a computerized corpus which includes1,532,229 Twitter posts containing English color and emotion terms.The patterns obtained from that corpus have been described and analyzed with regard to cultural and cognitive motivational models.The results arepresented fromemotionsas points of reference and colorsas points of reference.
