ANALISIS KESETARAAN GENDER PADA TOKOH UTAMA DALAM NOVEL GENI JORA KARYA ABIDAH EL KHALIEQY

Gender equality is a major goal to create prosperity and build harmony in social life. Gender equality is a common condition for men and women to obtain equality and their rights as human beings, so that they can play an active role and participate in various aspects of life. As one type of literary work, the novel becomes one of the media to describe the process of life, including the Geni Jora novel by Abidah El Khalieqy. Specifically, this study aims to describe the following matters: (1) Main character's activities (2) Main character's access (3) Main character's control. The method used in this study is a descriptive analysis method using a qualitative approach. The data source in this study is the Geni Jora by Abidah El Khalieqi novel by paying attention to data quotations, sentences, and story units in the novel. The data found is processed through several steps, namely (1) The reading technique is a technique used to collect data by reading the entire structure of the contents of the novel repeatedly then recorded to get accurate data. (2) Literature technique is a technique used to collect data by finding references that are in accordance with the theory used (3) The researcher presents the data by showing various descriptions of the problem formulation in the novel Geni Jora by Abidah El Khalieqy. From some of these processes found several forms of gender equality such as in educational status. From the results of the analysis and discussion, it was concluded that in the novel Geni Jora by Abidah El Khalieqy found six forms of main character activities, the activities in question are (1) attending a conference (2) lecture activities (3) visiting the National Art Gallery (4) visiting Malioboro (5) visits the coast of Agadir (6) through the Sahara Desert. Access of the main characters raised by the main characters are (1) education (2) tour. Besides the form of control that is raised by the main character that is able to control emotions
