The unique properties of conducting polymers, which are in the same time biocompatible and electrically responsive materials, make them perfect candidates for controlled drug release systems. In this study, the electrically-triggered controlled release system based on dexamethasone-loaded poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxypyrrole) (PEDOP) matrix is described. It is shown that the electropolymerization conditions can facilitate or suppress the formation of PEDOP/Dex matrix, as well as they can have the effect on its electrochemical performance.
