The present work of course completion aims to verify how to give protection to women victims of domestic violence through the urgent protective measures provided for in Law 11.340 / 2006, also known as the "Maria da Penha Law". For the accomplishment of this work we used documentary and bibliographic research. We have seen that domestic violence against women is a cultural historical factor, and that, unfortunately, occurs frequently in the present day. Therefore, after much struggle and demands for rights, mechanisms to protect domestic violence have emerged.
