The use of repellents as a form of individual protection is stimulated to reduce the number of interactions between hosts and vectors and consequently the spread of pathogens. This study evaluated the efficacy of different commercially used repellents against Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Methodology: Three commercial repellent formulations containing DEET, Icaridina and IR3535 as active principle were evaluated. The test consisted of the application of 4mg of the product on the hands of volunteers and the introduction of hands in cages containing 20 female mosquitoes each. The sting attempts were counted for 10 minutes in all tests, and the repellents were evaluated 30 minutes, 2 hours and 5 hours after application...
