The inguinal hernia is the most frequent among the hernias of the abdominal wall. Different surgical techniques were developed for this condition and, despite the studies already done, comparing the postoperative of these techniques, there is still no consensus of which has a lower morbidity. The objective was to identify the clinical differences in the postoperative period of inguinal herniorrhaphy laparotomy and laparoscopic. This is an observational cross-sectional study, carried out in the city of Florianópolis - Santa Catarina.
