Background: psychiatric illness can often lead to dermatological changes as well as skin disorders can cause depressive and anxiety symptoms. Objective: to evaluate the prevalence of skin disorders in patients attended at an outpatient psychiatric school in Tubarão, Santa Catarina. Method: a cross-sectional, observational study which 73 subjects from the psychiatric outpatient clinic were interviewed using questionnaires, and medical records were subsequently analyzed to obtain current psychiatric information.
