Fundamentals: Basal cell carcinoma is the most frequent skin neoplasm in Brazil, with increased incidence in the last decades. There are few studies in the southern region of Santa Catarina about the epidemiological profile of this tumor. Objectives: To establish the epidemiological profile of basal cell carcinoma in the AMUREL region (Santa Catarina). Methods: Observational cross-sectional study. Positive anatomic pathology reports were analyzed for BCC in a laboratory in Tubarão (SC). The variables collected were: year of diagnosis, age, gender, home town, lesion site, histological subtype, lesion diameter and commitment of margins.
