A educação infantil em Tubarão/SC: um estudo histórico da emergência das instituições coordenadas por congregações religiosas (1908-1969)

This dissertation lies in the History of Education field. Its goal was to investigate the emergence of early childhood education institutions in the town of Tubarão, Santa Catarina, coordinated by religious congregations (1908 - 1969), aiming to identify the origin of the responsible for the first initiatives on childhood education. For such, its was necessary to investigate old documents, especially chronics, which are a kind of report made by congregations regarding activities developed on kindergartens, as well as photos and testimonials. For the analysis we used authors as Kosík (2002), Gramsci (1995), Thompson (1981) have been used to support the analysis mainly because they relate to the concept of history, and the role dialectic organic and traditional intellectual plays in society. In addition, we also based on Kuhlmann Junior (2011) among others who research the history of early childhood education. The research showed that feminine religious congregations coordinated the first institutions created in the town and that the main pedagogical ideas that guided these early initiatives, called "Kindergarten", were based on a missionary pedagogy intertwined with pedagogical ideas of Froebel (2001). It was also noticed that the first kindergartens were created by the private sector directed primarily the rich class families’ children in the town, and that, after some decades, were extended to the children of workers of two large companies, later to be offered to the community in some locations through private/philanthropic institutions.A presente pesquisa em nível de Mestrado situou-se na área da História da Educação. Teve como objetivo investigar a emergência das instituições de Educação Infantil no município de Tubarão, coordenadas por congregações religiosas (1908 – 1969), visando a identificar a origem dos responsáveis pelas primeiras iniciativas da Educação Infantil. Para desenvolver a pesquisa foram consultados documentos, especialmente crônicas, que são uma espécie de relato feito pelas congregações sobre as atividades desenvolvidas nos Jardins de Infância, além de fotos e depoimentos. Para a análise utilizou-se autores como Kosík (2002), Gramsci (1995), Thompson (1981), principalmente referente ao conceito de história, dialética e o papel que exerce o intelectual orgânico e tradicional dentro da sociedade, além de Kuhlmann Junior (2011), entre outros, que pesquisam sobre a história da Educação Infantil. A pesquisa evidenciou que as congregações religiosas femininas coordenaram as primeiras instituições criadas no município e que as principais ideias pedagógicas que nortearam essas primeiras iniciativas, denominadas “Jardim de Infância”, tinham como base a pedagogia missionária entrelaçada às ideias pedagógicas de Froebel (2001). Percebeu-se, também, que os primeiros Jardins de Infância eram de iniciativa privada, direcionados, prioritariamente, aos filhos da classe de melhor poder aquisitivo do município, e após algumas décadas ampliaram-se aos filhos de operários de duas grandes empresas, para posteriormente serem oferecidos à comunidade em alguns locais por meio de instituições de cunho particular/filantrópico
