Synthetic mixed-layered saponite-chlorite, saponite-paragonite, saponite-talc, which appear in the Na₂O-Al₂O₃-MgO-SiO₂-H₂O system at low pressures (< 3 kbars) and average temperatures (380 to 700° C) have been studied by X-ray diffraction. Criteria of random, ordered organization, and determination of the x/y quantitative ratio of the two intercrystallized phases are given. Ordered saponite-chlorite appears in a large compositional field (0,25 < Al/Al + Mg + Si < 0,5) at low pressure. It corresponds to solid solution between saponite and chlorite.
