Construction and Design Considerations of Insulated Concrete Wall Panels

A major goal in today*s Building industry is to improve building design and construction, not only by reducing material and labor costs, but also by reducing energy requirements to heat and cool industrial, commercial and residential buildings. Multilayer, insulated concrete wall panels could successfully be applied to reach this goal. The research and test results included in this paper were taken from laboratory tests carried out on different occasions at research institutions in the United States, Canada and the Federal Republic of West Germany. Problems and recommendations are based partially on articles and reports of the building industry, and partially on my frequent product investigations in different parts of North America and Western Europe, The purpose of this paper is to give a better insight into the proper construction, design, and performance of fully insulated concrete wall panels
