Relations between doctors and nursing staff in the public hospital : continuity and changes. The relations between doctors and nursing staff in public hospitals have modified during the last thirty years by the changes in social relations of class and of sex. At the same time, there has been a restructuring of the different professional logics present in the institutional hospital context. The upheavals in the sexual division of labour and the developments of a new relationship to work in hospitals are analysed as real institutional changes, but also as elements of the reproduction of gender relations. Hierarchical relations continue between doctors and nursing staff. However, the new sexual division of labour is presented as a factor of change in the introduction of a new organisation of the work which encourages cooperation between the two teams.Le rapport médecin/personnel infirmier à l’hôpital public a connu différentes transformations au cours des trente dernières années durant lesquelles le rapport social de classe et de sexe a été redéfini. Simultanément, dans le contexte institutionnel hospitalier s’est opérée une restructuration des différentes logiques professionnelles en présence. Le bouleversement de la division sexuelle du travail et le développement d’un nouveau rapport au travail à l’hôpital sont analysés comme de réels changements institutionnels, mais aussi comme des éléments de reproduction du rapport social de sexe. Entre médecins et personnel infirmier, le rapport hiérarchique existe toujours. Toutefois, la nouvelle division sexuelle du travail est présentée comme un facteur de changement dans la mise en place d’une autre organisation du travail qui favoriserait la coopération entre les deux équipes.Picot Geneviève.
