This bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of adaptive controllers. It is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with identification methods of dynamic systems and methods of optimizing parameters of controllers. In the practical part is designed an adaptive self-tuning controller that is able to adapt to changes of parameters of the plant. The recursive least square method is used to determine a transfer function of the plant. Software solution of the adaptive controller is implemented in Matlab & Simulink
