Currently, geotourism is developed mainly within rural areas, but there are activities that point on the geodiversity and its importance within urban areas. Rational and sustainable use of geodiversity within urban areas can represent an alternative to the traditional tourist destinations and contributes to the understanding of the importance and necessity of protection of geodiversity itself.
