Synthesis of uro [2,3-d]pyrimidines and their precursors using microwave and ultrasound irradiation

Green chemistry has become a major driving force for organic chemists to develop environmentally benign routes for the preparation of organic compounds. A particularly attractive approach is based on ultrasound and microwave promoted heterocyclization reactions of suitably functionalized substrates.
