Legal aid system and its reform in Lithuania

Lithuania is undergoing substantial changes concerning the legal aid guaranteed by the state in terms of legal norms, implementing institutions and personal financial situation of the suspect, accused or the convict. The main focus of this artyicle is to analyze advantages and disadvantages of legal aid system in Lithuania in the context of national measures related to the implementation of the Council Directive 2002/8/EC.
