The blackcurrant berries is known to have high nutritional value, with a high level of polyphenols, namely antocianins, phenolic acids, flavanols and proanthocyanidins. Spectrophotometry was used to characterize total phonolics, flavonoids and radical scavenging capacity in leaves samples collected at different vegetation phases of blackcurrant as well as berries and stalks.
