The impact of introduction on the phytochemical composition of Chamerion Angustifolium (L.) Holub

Klaidingai parašyta pavardė: UgianaskienėThe aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of introduction of Chamerion angustifolium L. on their secondary metabolites composition. The variations of volatile and non-volatile compounds were determined after the introduction of six plants grown in different locations in Lithuania in Kaunas Botanical Garden. The volatile compounds composition was analysed using solid phase microextraction with GC/MS. The total amount of phenolic compounds were evaluated by the Folin–Ciocalteu method; the total content of flavonoids was determined by aluminium trichloride assay; antiradical activity was tested using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical. The qualitative analysis of C. angustifolium L. phenolic compounds was performed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The obtained results showed that the quantitative composition of C. angustifolium L. metabolites, changed significantly after their introduction. Some qualitative changes were observed between volatile compounds.
