Cutting-edge technology for preservation and promotion of architectural heritage

The articte analyses the significance of new technology for preservation, promotion and animation of architectural heritage in Lithuania. Specialized architectural databases of Lithuania were chosen as the subjects of the research us well as the option of their developme-nt through international virtual communities. Two key objectives were set during the process of the preparation of the text: first of all, to introduce Lithuanian research-based databases and discuss their functionality and innovation. The major attention will be given to the specifics of the following databases dedicated to architectural heritager www.autc.lt and www.archimede.lt.
