The Byelorussian component in old-believers' folklore in Lithuanian

In 2007 the first volume of Lithuanian old-believers' folklore collection by professor J.Novikov was issued in Vilnius. When reading the book one can notice the certain influence of long time contacts with neighbor peoples which can be seen in the system of genres and even in the repertoire and style of local singers and tellers. The fact is that Lithuanian old-believers and neighbor people had a special find of relationship, which we describe as a "special folklore microclimate" promoted an active interaction and mutual enrichment of different peoples' traditional cultures. The fluent knowledge of two or three languages by Lithuanian old-believers broadened their folklore repertoire, enriched the storage of artistic means.
