Globalisation, mobility and implications for educators

In this paper characteristics of globalization are presented, and namely processes of mobility of people, capital and information seem to have achieved the largest scope in our history, therefore a multicultural society is developing. In the paper it is emphasized that in a globalised world intercultural experiences be-come almost integral part of daily routines of people of almost all ages. Therefore educators have to start to consider the possibilities to help students (in this paper the context of higher education is analysed) to reflect on both their identities, and the perception of other people, whom they will be meeting more often in a globalised world, therefore in this paper results of an empiric study on the students opinions what are the attributions of otherness, and what are their experiences in the multicultural context, are presentedEdukologijos tyrimų institutasVytauto Didžiojo universiteta
