Linseed callus induction in unpollinated ovary culture

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of growth regulators combination on callus induction in linseed ovary culture. The experiments were carried out in the Institute of Biology and Plant Biotechnology and JRC Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology of Aleksandras Stulginskis University in 2015–2016. Linseed cultivars ‘Atalante’, ‘Dnepr-2’, ‘Indus-2’, ‘Lirina’, ‘Mikael’, ‘Norman’, ‘Zaltan-1’, ‘Valuta-1’ have been investigated. MS medium were supplemented by 2 mg l-1 TDZ + 1 mg l-1 NAA and 1 mg l-1 TDZ + 2 mg l-1 NAA, 6 % sucrose and 0.6 % agar. Unpollinated ovary of cultivar ‘Dnepr-2’ formed callus in highest frequency among tested cultivars. Cultivars ‘Atalante’, ‘Dnepr-2’, ‘Indus-2’, ‘Mikael’ and ‘Zaltan-1’ showed the higher response on the medium supplemented by 2 mg l-1 TDZ + 1 mg l-1NAA, while combination 1 mg l-1 TDZ + 2 mg l-1 NAA was more suitable for cultivars ‘Lirina’, ‘Norman’ and ‘Valuta-1’Vytauto Didžiojo universitetasŽemės ūkio akademij
