Common juniper (Juniperus communis L.) is valuable component of biodiversity, increasingly threatened in many parts of Europe, including Baltic region. The aim of the research was an evaluation of genetic diversity of Lithuanian populations of common juniper representing different habitats, comparison of genetic diversity evaluated by several types of molecular markers with physiological, biochemical and biotic environment features. For Lithuanian populations of juniper molecular variance at microsatellite loci within populations was high, genetic differentiation was low, genetic diversity was high.
