The paper presents the study of possibilities to produce biogas from mixtures of animal by-products and perennial grasses. Calculation of general energy input was done in terms of direct and indirect energy input. Total energy input for mixture of animal by¬products, grasses and pig manure reach 2,43 MJ/kg DM, and energy potential of such mixture is 13,4 MJ/kg DM. The highest energy input is for pretreatment of animal by¬products that accounts 56 % of total energy input.
