Parenting styles and psychosocial development of a child

Parents’ behaviour with their child is the most determining factor in the development of their personal identity and faculty to adapt successfully to modern society. Modern life and family values are changing quickly. Parents struggle to follow along with the intense teenage phase change and bring up their children hastily using outdated methods . Depending on the various parenting styles, parents influence their children whether consciously or unconsciously. The different parenting styles mirror the strategies used to educate their children. The least effective styles are : authoritarian, overly permissive and incoherent.
