The paper deals with the derivational patterns of compound adjectives in the English and Lithuanian languages. The research question that is to be answered in the present paper is the following: in what ways are derivational features of English and Lithuanian compound adjectives different or similar in translations from English into Lithuanian? The the research is aimed not at finding the matches or mismatches of translation but finding the patterns of derivation and semantic features of counterpart compound adjectives in English and Lithuanian. The descriptive and analytical methods were employed for observation and analysis of compounds.
