Three forms of marriage are reflected in fairy tales. In case of matrilocal marriage (i.e., the bride or her father chooses the bridegroom who remains in the bride's kin), the one who improves the condition of the bride or her kin, or the one who stands a very strong test gets the bride. The extraordinary girls look for the bridegroom who can dominate them.
