Introduction of new species could have risk for stability of ecosystems, populations and communities. Herbivores can have important direct and indirect effects on belowground properties and processes that govern ecosystem structure and productivity. A few studies about influence of fallow deer on soil chemical properties were performed. In this study, we examined the effects of fallow deer kept in enclosures on soil chemical properties. The study was carried out in enclosures of Anyksciai, Panevezys, Kaisiadorys and Raseiniai State Forest Enterprises. Spruce, mixed spruce and birch stands dominated in enclosures.
