Correlations of time perspective with health locus of control and satisfaction with life among adults

Recently, more and more scientists underline the importance of time perspective for a person's life (Fieulaine, Martinez, 2010; Kairys, 2010; Robinovich et al., 2010; Gao, 2011; Gruber et al., 2012). Researchers linked time perspective with health and health-related behaviours (Keough et al., 1999; Fingerman, Perlmutter, 2001; Adams, Nettle, 2009). Nevertheless, despite an increasing number of studies, there are no articles examining connections between time perspective and health locus of control. To the best of our knowledge, there are no articles analysing connections between time perspective and satisfaction with life in Lithuania. The aim of current research is to study the relationship between time perspective with health locus of control and satisfaction with life among adults. Three methods were used in this research: the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI; Zimbardo, Boyd, 1999) was used to evaluate time perspective; the Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale (MHLC; Wallston et al., 1978) was used to evaluate health locus of control; and the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS; Diener et al., 1985) was used to evaluate satisfaction with life.
