Evaluation of landscape potentialsof Attouda ancient city - Hisar settlement in frame of tourism opportunities

Multilayered settlements with traces of different civilizations in the historical process face the risk of extinction due to physical, social, economic problems. At this point, the settlements are forced to live with the culture what can be done should be discussed with regards to place, history, geography, socio-economic status, traditional original architectural texture, protection and sustainability of natural and cultural values. "Safeguarding of keeping alive" is a tool to ensure the sustainability of the historical, cultural, environmental and economic with the new function. However, a correct balance between protection and functional change needs to be established. In this study , of cultural and natural environment, social, shaped by the cultural and economic life, the past with the original spatial characteristics of the remaining legacy today, the ancient city of Attouda in archaeological and urban sites feature - Hisar settlement is discussed. In order to keep the landscape potential of the area in the cultural landscape characteristic, to be keep alive, protected and transferred to the next generations; as a solution to the proper functioning of the settlement, the protection of historic settlements, strategies and actions might create a significant potential for tourism development and for the sustainability of the use has been considered. In this context, the possibilities for tourism use of the landscape potential that exists in the continuity of cultural continuity of the area and its integration with today’s life have been determined and recommendations for tourism alternatives have been developed by considering conservation and usage balance. The aim of this study is to preserve natural and cultural characteristics of landscape, the assessment of the readability, preservation and value of its recognition and increasing its visibility, contribution to regional development on the basis of protection and utilization, which can be effective from past to present in order to provide rational and an integrated approach. In this context of research, it is thought that the suggestions of the landscape potential for the preservation and transfer of the multi-layered cultural landscape to future generations will contribute to the utilization of tourism by considering the balance of protection-use
