This report is an update on the utilization of feed resources in Norwegian salmon farming industry in 2016. In 2016, 1.25 million tonnes of salmon were produced in Norway, using 1.62 million tonnes feed ingredients ‘as is’ or 1.52 million tonnes on dry matter basis. This gives an economic feed conversion ratio of 1.30 (or 1.21 on dry matter basis). Soy protein concentrate accounted for 19 % of the feed ingredients, wheat and wheat gluten summed up to 17.9 % and rapeseed and camelia oil 19.8 %.
