Těžištěm naší práce je statistický model, který popisuje, jak se chovají ionty ve skle. Model řeší způsob a rychlost pohybu iontu ve skle, poskytuje distribuční křivku iontů na volných pozicích ve skle, přičemž každá volná pozice je definována energií, kterou musí iont překonat k tomu, aby ji opustil. Vstupními parametry modelu jsou konkrétní fyzikální parametry studovaného iontově vodivého skla. Pro nás je tím konkrétním materiálem ternární chalkogenidové sklo (GeS2)50(Sb2S3)50 dopované stříbrem. Nicméně model je obecně platný pro iontově vodivé skla.
