IDENTIFIKASI PERILAKU MEROKOK, DUKUNGAN SOSIAL DAN MOTIVASI BERHENTI MEROKOK PADA MAHASISWA KESEHATAN

Background : The habits of smoking are carried out by every student, includes the health college student which should be known about the effect of cigarettes. The people around are very important in controlling person's behavior, by efforts to provide social support, especially for someone who has the motivation to stop for smoking. Method: The method of this study was descriptive observational study. This study used accidental sampling with 63 samples of health college students. Data collection using questionnaire, than analyzing the data using descriptive statistical analysis. Result: Most of respondents have moderate smoking behavior (65%). Most of respondents (84%) have a high social support. Most of respondents (71%) have a high social support in the type of appraisal support, in the type of tangible support (87%) respondents have a low support, types of self-esteem support (97%) respondents have a high support, and social support types of belonging support (92%) respondents have a high support. Motivation to quit smoking of the most respondents (71%) had a high motivation. Conclusion: This research can be concluded that the description of smoking behavior of most respondents is moderate. The description of social support types of appraisal support is mostly high, while the types of tangible support are low, the types of self-esteem support are high, and the type of belonging support is mostly. Most of the respondents have a high description of motivation to quit smoking. The researcher expects follow-up in further studies and encompass wider the scop
