This research is aimed to know the effect of adhesive bonding glue by adding coconut shell activated carbon powder. The percentage of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% of carbon powder used to find out the adhesive strength and shear strength on steel joints. Steel ST 37 material used in the research has 3 mm thick, 20mm wide, and 120mm long for adhesive test and for shear test 3 mm thick, 20 mm wide , and 110mm long. Thickness of glue for this speciment is 1 mm. This research has conducted adhesive test and shear test with tensile test tool. The powder used is activated coconut shell charcoal with 1% of NaOH solution for activation in 24 hours.
