International audienceAt the end of the XIIth century, the duchy of Brittany is deeply involved in the conflict opposing the Plantagenets and the Capetians. Henri II, King of England, has integrated the duchy to his own infuence’s area by supporting the duke Conan IV’s reconquest of the duchy at first, and then by marrying the duke’s heiress, Constance, to his own son, Geoffroy. When this one died, in 1186, Constance was pregnant of a son, born in 1187. During about fifteen years, Constance is ruling the duchy by her own.
