Taylor was invited to give a short paper for the final conference for the 'Art School Educated' Leverhulme-funded research project on the history of art school education by Professor Nigel Llewellyn, Head of Research at Tate. The paper addressed the role of drawing in art school education and located this within the context of the history and purpose of drawing within wider cultures. and the teaching of drawing within art schools to the present day. The paper cited a range of images of drawings from the Jerwood Drawing Prize archives, and the need and function for initiatives such as the Jerwood Drawing Prize project and others in the 1990s and their subsequent impact on art education in the UK
