‘Anthropology is philosophy with people in.’ In the spirit of this famous quote from Tim Ingold, coupled with Lakoff and Johnson’s idea of ‘philosophy in the flesh,’ this series aims at ‘embodying’ philosophy, by way of intermingling it with anthropology and, more generally, with social, neuro-cognitive, semiotic and life sciences. The common thread will be a view of the human being as an organism embedded in and intertwined with the environment, as opposed to the long-standing dualisms that characterize Western thought: mind / body, nature / culture, subject / environment.
