This article reviews the role of 11C-choline-PET/computed tomography (CT) in patients with prostate cancer for diagnosis, staging, and restaging the disease in case of biochemical recurrence after primary treatment. The main application of this imaging procedure is restaging of the disease in case of biochemical recurrence. 11C-Choline-PET/CT proved its value for metastases-directed salvage therapies and for monitoring therapy response in castration-resistant patients.
