The commitment is to offer customers advanced e-logistics services that enable the different stakeholders to share and exchange information. Particularly involved in this process is the bill of lading: since at least thirty years, several are the attempts to develop a e-bill of lading (or e-transport record, as in the Rotterdam Rules) providing the same functions of the paper one and widely accepted.
