none5noThis paper provides examples of recent solutions for Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT), representing a high demanding capability of future 5G network wireless devices, deploying both near- and far-field transmission mechanisms. In the first example, existing mobile phone antennas are used for resonant capacitive coupling, in addition to the standard communication role. In the second case, a single-port antenna is able to receive UHF power for harvesting energy while communicating in the UWB band.
