Zhejianese migrants were the first to reach Italy via France since the 1920s; in the 1980s they made up more than 90 percent of all Chinese migrants in Italy, and at least 80 percent of the total in the 2000s. It is estimated that in the 2010s they still make up between 70 and 80 percent of the Chinese population in the country.
