The success of organic agriculture and its market represents an example of the growing awareness toward sustainability of agriculture and food consumption. Indeed, organic consumption can be described in terms of “agro-ecological consumerism”, a phenomenon that moves in opposition to the food and environmental global risks and that could be considered as a driver of sustainable development.
