The aim of this chapter is to provide an overview of the main semantic and morphosyntactic features characterizing coordinating constructions from a functional–typological approach, with a focus on the variation attested to in the world’s languages. In this section the notion of coordination will be defined and analyzed. In Section 2 we will examine the semantic and morphosyntactic properties characterizing coordination in the world’s languages, and Section 3 will focus on some relevant typological patterns
