This paper analyses a ceramic sequence from the Middle to the Late Bronze Age levels of the area K5 south at Tilmen Höyük, excavated by the Joint Turkish-Italian Expedition under the direction of Nicolò Marchetti of the University of Bologna. The Comparison of Tilmen Höyük stratigraphy and pottery with the evidence from other sites in central Syrian and in the Euphrates regions fills a gap about the knowledge of the transition period between the Middle and Late Bronze Ages on the Islahiye valley. The pottery horizon of MB IA is clearly a local production. In MB IB and MB II the pottery assemblages have relations with northern Syria and the Euphrates region. In LB I it is characterized by a continuity with Middle Bronze II traditions
